Following extensive preparations, Kherson formally joined the USAID sponsored Birth Defects Surveillance Network in Ukraine. The Kherson team has already undergone training in Lutsk and Rivne and has been provided with digital cameras and computer equipment including dedicated lines to provide access to the web. The Kherson team has also adopted the task to contribute towards the translation of an atlas of standards of growth for normal children and those with various genetic disorders. (June, 2001)
